Me and Cathy are the coolest crappy-internet-only-radio-station DJs in the world! For real.

I am posing so much because I am the coolest crappy-internet-only-radio-station DJ in the world! You know it. But look at my under-eye circles! So tired. Too much working, not enough sleeping. Uh huh.

Lots of weirdos on my street are obviously going stir-crazy about Halloween. Or "Hallowha?" as I like to call it. Or "Hallo-weird". Or "Hallo-wha-the hell is wrong with you crazy mo-fo with your fairy lights and your fake gravestones!". Or whatever. At least there's candy involved.

Well, just one photo today. Another in the "Kelly goes to a bar with her school friends" series. We went to a bar called Nunu's where the bartenders were weird and the drinks were weak. They did have booths though. Booooth. Anyway. I won't tell you people's names cos you don't care.

Last week, there was an opening at the city gallery, with lots of work by MFA students. My friend Julia and her boyfriend Kye arranged a mysterious anonymous masked group photo for their piece, which you can see here (or on their website www.weirdshadow.com). I am the one wearing a pink mask. What, there are lots of pink masks? I'm just a face in the crowd! SIGH!

MY WEEKEND: Ok, you all know that my photos are about quantity and documentation, not quality, right? Ok good. Well, I went to Tijuana on Friday to look at this art thing, and here are some photos from that. This is still in San Diego, on the freeway, and there's this ENORMOUS blow-up gorrilla. Yep.

Ok, this is walking down this weird cage-y overpass thing, towards the Mexican border.

This is the art thing in Tijuana. The huge sphere is a cultural center/museum thing, and the wooden tree-house thing tacked on the side is the art. It was part of this big SD/TJ art thing, uuh, yeah. Look how blue the sky is!

And then we went to this sea-food restaurant. I ate corn chips and had beer. There was some amazing seafood though. This photo is bad, sorry. But it's supposed to like capture the livelyness of the moment, or something.

And this is the entrance of the restaurant. They were well into Halloween, even though Mexican doesn't do Halloween. But American tourists do, so...
In the gaping maw are Mariola and Cathy.

And this is in the carpark of the restaurant (boring you to DEATH sorry). Mariola, Brian, Cathy and Kate. FYI, Mariola and Brian are in the phD programme, Cathy and Kate are doing MFAs like me.

Once we got back to SD, we went to a party. This is me and Brian with mean red-eye, drinking SPARKS. Sparks is alcoholic, caffenated, orange flavoured malt liquor beverage. It is puke-o-licious. AMERICA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!!

Sara, Brian, Deanna and Cathy outside somewhere.

This is me asking myself if I really want to eat a possibly-lard-enriched taco at 4:30 am. The answer was yes.

On Saturday, me 'n' Cathy went to the Corvette Diner. It was the most AMAZING thing in San Diego that I have seen. An extreeeeme 50s theme novelty diner. It totally ruled and if anyone comes and visits me, we are going there for sure.

Can you see the guy standing in the middle of the photo with a black Beatles hairdo? He was our waiter, and here he is leading the restaurant in a stand up dance-along version of the birddance. He thought I said I was from New Orleans, and got all emotional. I was confused. He gave me a hug when we left and said he hoped I'd be ok.

And this is the disgusting icecream soda I got. Disgustingly huge, that is.
Also, I've obviously decided that my hair looks better on the left side (WHICH IT DOES) which may explain why I'm facing this direction in every photo.

This photo is not very descriptive, but about 8 waiters and waitresses were dancing to Wild Thing, including this guy, who looks like Christopher (Agar) and was wearing a cute cap with a propellor on top.

Finally, this is a photo of the cool tshirt I bought. It is just about the 1st new item of clothing I've bought in the last year or something, but it was a good shirt to break edge with because it is awesome.

Ok I done no post for AGES. Here are a couple photos. They are kinda boring and random. Nonetheless. Here is some FAKE MEAT I ate the other day. It was "vegetarian riblet" flavour. It was puke-o-rific. Too much barbecue sauce. And they even managed to do a perfect textural impression of gross meat-gristle. BLEUGH.

Dear America-
Why why why do you have so many vegetarian products masquerading as meat?
It is gross.
From Kelly.

Ok, and here's a baby I surreptitiously took a photo of while I was on the bus the other day. IT IS WEARING A HELMET. For no discernible reason. Not a bike in sight. Maybe it was about to go rock climbing? I don't know. Who knows.

And finally, here are the somewhat-freaky bible hands that my friend Cathy's roommate has put in their lounge. It's hard to blaspheme when there are SCARY BIBLE HANDS watching you at all times.

Also, sorry for my rampant use of capital letters. It is getting to be a habit.
I promise to post some interesting photos soon, of people and art openings and music shows and stuff. I'm going to Tijuana again this Saturday, so maybe I'll get some good shots. Still feel like a dork pulling my camera out, though. However, I can just say "But I'm a crr-azy foreigner!" and that makes everything ok.

Ok, just to kill any mystique about my life over here, I'm posting a gratuitous number of photos of the house I just moved into. Here's part of the lounge. Nice and comfy except I'm a bit scared of that painting on the wall...

And here's the other bit of the lounge. Just like the first bit except different.

And here's the huge hookah in one corner of the lounge, sitting in the "hookah and atlas" area.

We have some outside. Here it is. There are barbecues, and right over the fence is a canyon, where you can go jogging and stuff. Well, my roommates can go jogging. I can stay seated and throw stones over the fence or something.

More outside. Table tennis!

Here's the house cat. It's name is broccoli. Actually it has lots of names. I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, but it's super cute.

Dear cheeses of America:
Why are you so orange?
From Kelly.

The old mormon temple again, as viewed from the supermarket car park. It's a part of my life now, like orange cheese.

We were driving down the 805, going to see some atrocious Jodie Foster movie, and I took a photo. This is what Southern California looks like to me.
